RMJM Award for Art & Architecture 2004

1st prize. With Ruth Bide, Rebecca MacDonald, Martine Pugh.
"The competition is set in Leith Docks, Edinburgh, an area where RMJM is working with Forth Ports in order to create a new development framework. Over the next 15 years this area will be transformed to provide a mix of spaces, buildings and functions and create a vibrant extension to the city. If this is to be achieved successfully, the ‘spirit of place’ must play a significant part in the evolution of the area. The 2004 award will be presented for an idea that displays creativity and innovation in identifying and responding to genius loci."

I feel competitions are a crucial part of my continuing professional development and growth, whether they are individual efforts or involve other professionals. Normally completed outside of normal working hours, they require sustained effort but are rewarding and educational.
