Bordeaux really seems to be on top of its game when it comes to large scale, infrastructural planning and design: I understand the tram system is a roaring success and was used to drive a number of smaller scale public realm improvements; they aren’t afraid to be challenged by the likes of OMA; and they are hooked into European networks of professionals such as the International Urban Development Association.
